2) Install the washers [12] and nuts [11] to attach the jumper wires [23].
3) Apply sealant, A02315 to the nuts [11].
(b) Apply primer, C00259 to the mating surfaces of the shims [22] and shim [24].
(c) If you removed the shims [22] or shim [24], put the shims [22] or shim [24] in its position.
(d) Apply compound, C00528 to the bolts [3] and bolts [5].
(e) Install the bolts [3] and washers [4] to attach the forward fairing assembly [1] to the fairing
attach fitting [13].
(f) Install the bolts [5] to attach the forward end of the forward fairing assembly [1].

(3) Do this task: Inboard Flap Support Fairing Adjustment, TASK 27-51-18-820-801.

(4) Fill the clearance between the front of the forward fairing assembly [1] and the lower surface of

(a) Remove the bolts [25] that attach the tailcone assembly [26] to the aft fairing assembly [2].
(b) Remove the tailcone assembly [26] from the aft fairing assembly [2].

(3) Remove the access cover [15] and access cover [21] from the forward end of the aft fairing
assembly [2]:
(a) These are the panels:

(b) Remove the bolts [14] that attach the access cover [15] and access cover [21] to the aft
fairing assembly [2].
(c) Remove the access cover [15] and access cover [21].

(4) Remove the aft fairing assembly [2]:
(a) Disconnect the aft end of the aft fairing assembly [2]:
NOTE: Support the aft end of the aft fairing assembly [2] while you remove the bolt [36].
1) Remove the nut [40], washer [39], washer [37], bolt [36] and bushing [38] that attach the
lower end of the attach beam assembly [42] to the flap track [6].
2) Remove the nut [31], washer [30], washer [28], bolt [27] and bushing [29] that attach the
drive rod assembly [34] to the main flap [33].
(b) Disconnect the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [2]:
1) Remove the nut [20] and washer [19] from the pivot bolt [16].
2) Remove the pivot bolt [16], washer [17] and bushing [18] that attach the aft fairing
assembly [2] to the transmission attach fitting [10].
(c) Lower the aft fairing assembly [2] until you can get access to the nuts [11] on the jumper
wires [23].
(d) Remove the nuts [11] and washers [12] that attach the jumper wires [23].
(e) Remove the jumper wires [23] from the studs.
(f) Lower the aft fairing assembly [2].

(5) If you will install a new aft fairing assembly [2], remove the fairing drive linkage from the aft
fairing assembly [2]:
NOTE: The fairing drive linkage includes the drive rod assembly [34], adjust link [35], adjust
rod assembly [43] and the attach beam assembly [42].
(a) Remove the nut [54], washer [53], washer [51], bolt [50] and bushing [52] that attach the
adjust rod assembly [43] to the aft fairing assembly [2].
(b) Remove the adjust link [35] from the aft fairing assembly [2]:
1) Remove the nut [59] and washer [58] from the bolt [63].
