NOTE: Make sure the heads of the bolts [3] are inboard.
(c) Carefully clean all of the grease, D00633 from the threads of the bolts [3].
(d) Install the washers [6] and nuts [7] on the bolts [3].
(e) Tighten the nuts [7] to 65-100 pound-inches (7.3-11.3 newton-meters).
(f) Install the pins [8] in the nuts [7].

(3) Connect the forward rod assembly [16] to the drive rod attach fitting [9]:
(a) Apply grease, D00633 to the shank of the bolt [10] and the inside of the bushing [12].
NOTE: Make sure you do not get grease, D00633 on the threads of the bolts [10].
(b) Install the bushing [12], bolt [10] and washer [11] to attach the forward rod assembly [16] to
the drive rod attach fitting [9].
NOTE: Make sure the head of the bolt [10] is inboard.
(c) Carefully clean all of the grease, D00633 from the threads of the bolt [10].
(d) Install the washer [13] and nut [14] on the bolt [10].
(e) Tighten the nut [14] to 65-100 pound-inches (7.3-11.3 newton-meters).
(f) Install the pin [15] in the nut [14].

(4) Connect the aft rod assembly [2] to the aft flap [1]:
(a) Apply grease, D00633 to the shank of the bolt [19] and the inside of the bushing [21].
NOTE: Make sure you do not get grease, D00633 on the threads of the bolt [19].
(b) Install the bushing [21], bolt [19] and washer [20] to attach the aft rod assembly [2] to the aft
flap [1].
NOTE: Make sure the head of the bolt [19] is inboard.
(c) Carefully clean all of the grease, D00633 from the threads of the bolt [19].
(d) Install the washer [22] and nut [23] on the bolt [19].
(e) Tighten the nut [23] to 65-100 pound-inches (7.3-11.3 newton-meters).
(f) Install the pin [24] in the nut [23].
I. Aft Flap Drive Mechanism Adjustment

(1) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.

(2) Retract the trailing edge flaps to the retracted position. To retract them, do this task: Retract the
Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.

(3) Install the rig pins0.3125 in (7.938 mm) rig pin, STD-4233 in the rig pin holes in the bellcrank
assembly [17] and the carriage [18] (Figure 402).
(a) If it is necessary, move the aft flap [1] or the main flap until you can install the rig pins.

(4) Measure the mismatch at the between the aft flap [1] and the main flap at the inboard and
outboard ends of the aft flap [1].

(5) If the mismatch at the inboard and outboard ends of the aft flap [1] is not in the limit of 0.00
±0.060 inches (1.524 mm), then adjust the length of the applicable aft rod assembly [2]:
(a) Loosen the nuts [51] on the aft rod assembly [2].
(b) Turn the applicable aft rod assembly [2] until the mismatch is in the limit at the inboard and
outboard ends of the aft flap [1].
NOTE: For each 1/4 turn of the aft rod assembly [2], the trailing edge of the aft flap [1] will
move approximately 0.04 inch (1.016 mm).
(c) Tighten the nuts [51] on the aft rod assembly [2].
(d) Install lockwire on the nuts [51].

(6) Remove the rig pins0.3125 in (7.938 mm) rig pin, STD-4233 from the bellcrank assembly [17].
J. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(a) Do this task: Outboard Flap Outboard Support Aft Fairing Installation,
TASK 27-51-28-400-802.
(b) Do this task: Outboard Flap Inboard Support Aft Fairing Installation,
TASK 27-51-28-400-804.

(2) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.
