G. Outboard Flap Outboard Support Aft Fairing Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-28-020-005
(1) If the fairing drive linkage is not installed on the aft fairing assembly [2], do these steps:
NOTE: The fairing drive linkage includes the drive rod assembly [32], adjust link assembly [41],
adjust rod assembly [42] and the attach beam assembly [33].
(a) Connect the adjust rod assembly [42] to the adjust link assembly [41]:
1) Install the bushing [45], bolt [43], washer [44], washer [46] and nut [47] that attach the
adjust rod assembly [42] to the adjust link assembly [41].
NOTE: For the left wing, install the bolt [43] with the head on the same side of the
adjust link assembly [41] as the bushing [45]. For the right wing, install the bolt
[43] with the head on the opposite side of the adjust link assembly [41] as the
bushing [45].
2) Install the pin [48] in the nut [47].
(b) Connect the adjust link assembly [41] to the attach beam assembly [33]:
1) Put the adjust link assembly [41] in its position on the attach beam assembly [33].
2) Install the bushing [51], bolt [49], washer [50], washer [52] and nut [53] to attach the
adjust link assembly [41] to the attach beam assembly [33].
3) Tighten the nut [53]:
a) Tighten the nut [53] to 370-475 pound-inches (41.8-53.7 newton-meters) if the bolt
[49] is not lubricated.
b) Tighten the nut [53] to 260-310 pound-inches (29.4-35.0 newton-meters) if the bolt
[49] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
4) Install the pin [54] in the nut [53].
(c) Connect the drive rod assembly [32] to the attach beam assembly [33]:
1) Put the drive rod assembly [32] in its position on the attach beam assembly [33].
2) Install the bushing [28], bolt [26], washer [27], washer [29] and nut [30] to attach the
drive rod assembly [32] to the attach beam assembly [33].
3) Install the pin [31] in the nut [30].
(d) Connect the adjust link assembly [41] to the aft fairing assembly [2]:
1) Put the adjust link assembly [41] in its location on the aft fairing assembly [2] with the
washers [55], washers [64], bushing [60] and bushing [61].
NOTE: Install the same number of washers [55] in the same location as you removed
them.
2) Install the bolt [62], washer [63], washer [58] and nut [57].
3) Tighten the nut [57]:
a) Tighten the nut [57] to 530-690 pound-inches (59.9-77.9 newton-meters) if the bolt
[62] is not lubricated.

b) Tighten the nut [57] to 345-425 pound-inches (39.0-48.0 newton-meters) if the bolt
[62] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
4) Measure the clearance between the washer [58] and the flange on the bushing [59].
5) If the clearance is not 0.010 to 0.025 inch (0.25 to 0.64 millimeter), change the location of
the washers [55]:
a) Remove the nut [57], washer [58], washers [55], washers [64], washer [63], bolt [62],
bushing [60] and bushing [61].
b) Change the location of the washers [55].
c) Install the bushing [60], bushing [61], bolt [62], washer [63], washers [55], washers
[64], washer [58] and nut [57].
d) Make sure the clearance between the washer [58] and the flange on the bushing
[59] is in the limit of 0.010 to 0.025 inch.
e) Tighten the nut [57] to 530-690 pound-inches (59.9-77.9 newton-meters) if the bolt
