f) Tighten the nut [57] to 345-425 pound-inches (39.0-48.0 newton-meters) if the bolt
[62] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
6) Install the pin [56] in the nut [57].
(e) Connect the adjust rod assembly [42] to the aft fairing assembly [2]:
1) Install the bushing [45], bolt [43], washer [44], washer [46] and nut [47] that attach the
adjust rod assembly [42] to the aft fairing assembly [2].
2) Install the pin [48] in the nut [47].

(2) Install the aft fairing assembly [2]:
(a) Connect the jumper wires [22]:
1) Lift the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [2] until you can put the jumper wires [22]
on the studs.
2) Install the washers [12] and nuts [11] to attach the jumper wires [22].
3) Apply sealant, A02315 to the nuts [11].
(b) Connect the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [2] to the transmission attach fitting [10]:
1) Lift the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [2] until it aligns with the transmission
attach fitting [10].
2) Install the bushing [17], pivot bolt [15], washer [18], washer [16] and nut [19].
3) Tighten the nut [19]:
a) Tighten the nut [19] to 1200-1410 pound-inches (135.6-159.3 newton-meters) if the
bolt [15] is not lubricated.
b) Tighten the nut [19] to 920-1000 pound-inches (103.9-112.9 newton-meters) if the
bolt [15] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
(c) Connect the aft end of the aft fairing assembly [2]:
1) Move the attach beam assembly [33] until it aligns with the flap track [7].
2) Install the bushing [37], bolt [35], washer [36], washer [38] and nut [39].
3) Tighten the nut [39]:
a) Tighten the nut [39] to 870-1070 pound-inches (98.3-120.9 newton-meters) if the bolt
[35] is not lubricated.

b) Tighten the nut [39] to 555-650 pound-inches (62.7-73.4 newton-meters) if the bolt
[35] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
4) Install the pin [40] in the nut [39].
5) Align the drive rod assembly [32] with the carriage [25].
6) Install the bushing [28], bolt [26], washer [27], washer [29] and nut [30].
NOTE: Install the bolt [26] with the head on the outboard side.
7) Install the pin [31] in the nut [30].
H. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.

(2) Retract the flaps to the retracted position. To retract them, do this task: Retract the Trailing
Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.

(3) Do this task: Outboard Flap Outboard Support Fairing Adjustment, TASK 27-51-28-820-801.

(4) Install the access cover [3] and access cover [20] on the forward end of the aft fairing
assembly [2]:
(a) These are the covers:

(b) Put the access cover [3] and access cover [20] in their locations on the aft fairing
assembly [2].
(c) Install the bolts [14] that attach the access cover [3] and access cover [20].

(5) If it is open, close the access door [34] on the aft fairing assembly [2]:
(a) These are the doors:

(b) Turn the access door [34] around the screw [66] until it is in its position.
(c) Install the bolts [65] that attach the access door [34] to the aft fairing assembly [2].
(d) Tighten the screw [66] on the access door [34].

(6) If it is not installed, install the tailcone assembly [67] on the aft fairing assembly [2]:
(a) Put the tailcone assembly [67] in its location on the aft fairing assembly [2].
(b) Install the bolts [68] that attach the tailcone assembly [67].
