G. Outboard Flap Outboard Track Installation
SUBTASK 27-51-25-420-001
(1) If it is not installed, install the transmission attach fitting assembly [2]:
(a) Put the transmission attach fitting assembly [2] in its location on the flap track [1].
(b) Install the bolts [27], washers [24] and nuts [26] that attach the transmission attach fitting
assembly [2] to the flap track [1].
(c) Install the pins [25] in the nuts [26].

(2) If you will use the adapter, SPL-1733, install it on the flap track [1]:
(a) Install the adapter, SPL-1733 on the flap track [1] approximately 33 inches (84 cm) aft of the
track attach fitting.
(b) Put a low profile hydraulic jack, COM-1568 below the adapter, SPL-1733 to support the flap
track [1].

(3) Install the flap track [1]:
(a) If it is not installed, install the shim [9] on the structure:
NOTE: Make sure the shim [9] is the same thickness as the shim [9] that you removed.
The original thickness of the shim [9] is on a marker on the structure.
1) Apply sealant, A00247 to the mating surface of the shim [9] and the structure.
2) Put the shim [9] in its position.
3) Apply a fillet seal of sealant, A00247 around the shim [9].
(b) Attach the aft end of the flap track [1] to the structure:
1) Lift the flap track [1] to its location on the structure.
2) Install the bolt [11], washer [10], washer [8] and nut [7] that attaches the inboard side of
the flap track [1] to the structure.
3) Install the bolt [3], washer [4], washer [5] and nut [6] that attaches the outboard side of
the flap track [1] to the structure.
(c) Attach the forward end of the flap track [1]:
1) Apply grease, D00633 to the outside of the fuse pin [20] and the inside of the bushings.
2) Install the fuse pin [20] that attaches the forward end of the flap track [1] to the track
attach fitting.
(d) Tighten the nut [7] to 1300-1800 pound-inches (146.9-203.3 newton-meters).

(e) Tighten the nut [6] to 870-1300 pound-inches (98.3-146.9 newton-meters).
(f) Make sure you can turn the fuse pin [20] in the joint with a maximum of 10 pound-inches
(1.1 newton-meters) torque.
NOTE: You can push up on the forward end of the flap track [1] to take the weight off the
fuse pin [20] when you measure the torque.
(g) Install the washer [21] and nut [22] on the fuse pin [20].
(h) Tighten the nut [22] to 110-130 pound-inches (12.4-14.6 newton-meters).
(i) Loosen the nut [22] to align the hole for the pin [23].
(j) Install the pin [23] in the nut [22].

(4) Install the failsafe fitting assembly [19] on the track attach fitting:
(a) Put the failsafe fitting assembly [19] in its location on the track attach fitting.
(b) Install the bolts [18] and washers [17] to attach the failsafe fitting assembly [19].

(5) If it is necessary, remove the adapter, SPL-1733 from the flap track [1].

(6) Install the bolt [13], washer [12], washers [14] and nut [15] to connect the jumper wire [16] to the
flap track [1].
