1) Install the bushing [124], bolt [122], washer [123], washer [125] and nut [126] that attach
the adjust rod assembly [121] to the aft fairing assembly [82].
2) Install the pin [127] in the nut [126].
SUBTASK 27-51-28-420-006
(2) Install the aft fairing assembly [82]:
(a) Connect the jumper wires [103]:
1) Lift the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [82] until you can put the jumper wires
[103] on the studs.
2) Install the washers [93] and nuts [92] to attach the jumper wires [103].
3) Apply sealant, A02315 to the nuts [92].
(b) Connect the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [82] to the transmission attach fitting
[91]:
1) Lift the forward end of the aft fairing assembly [82] until it aligns with the transmission
attach fitting [91].
2) Install the bushing [99], pivot bolt [97], washer [98], washer [100] and nut [101].
3) Tighten the nut [101]:
a) Tighten the nut [101] to 1200-1410 pound-inches (135.6-159.3 newton-meters) if the
bolt [97] is not lubricated.
b) Tighten the nut [101] to 920-1000 pound-inches (103.9-112.9 newton-meters) if the
bolt [97] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
(c) Connect the aft end of the aft fairing assembly [82]:
1) Move the attach beam assembly [134] until it aligns with the flap track [87].
2) Install the bushing [116], bolt [114], washer [115], washer [117] and nut [118].
3) Tighten the nut [118]:
a) Tighten the nut [118] to 1300-1470 pound-inches (146.9-166.1 newton-meters) if the
bolt [114] is not lubricated.

b) Tighten the nut [118] to 840-920 pound-inches (94.9-103.9 newton-meters) if the bolt
[114] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
4) Install the pin [119] in the nut [118].
5) Align the drive rod assembly [112] with the carriage [105].
6) Install the bushing [108], bolt [106], washer [107], washer [109] and nut [110].
NOTE: Install the bolt [106] with the head on the outboard side.
7) Install the pin [111] in the nut [110].
H. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Do this task: Trailing Edge Flap System Reactivation, TASK 27-51-00-440-801.

(2) Retract the flaps to the retracted position. To retract them, do this task: Retract the Trailing
Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.

(3) Do this task: Outboard Flap Inboard Support Fairing Adjustment, TASK 27-51-28-820-802.

(4) Install the access cover [83] and access cover [102] on the forward end of the aft fairing
assembly [82]:
(a) These are the covers:

(b) Put the access cover [83] and access cover [102] in their locations on the aft fairing
assembly [82].
(c) Install the bolts [94] that attach the access cover [83] and access cover [102].

(5) If it is open, close the access door [113] on the aft fairing assembly [82]:
(a) These are the doors:

(b) Turn the access door [113] around the screw [146] until it is in its position.
(c) Install the bolts [145] that attach the access door [113] to the aft fairing assembly [82].
(d) Tighten the screw [146] on the access door [113].

(6) If it is not installed, install the tailcone assembly [147] on the aft fairing assembly [82]:
(a) Put the tailcone assembly [147] in its location on the aft fairing assembly [82].
(b) Install the bolts [148] that attach the tailcone assembly [147].
