SUBTASK 27-51-28-020-010
(1) If the fairing drive linkage is not installed on the aft fairing assembly [82], do these steps:
NOTE: The fairing drive linkage includes the drive rod assembly [112], adjust link
assembly [120], adjust rod assembly [121] and the attach beam assembly [134].
(a) Connect the adjust rod assembly [121] to the adjust link assembly [120]:
1) Install the bushing [124], bolt [122], washer [123], washer [125] and nut [126] that attach
the adjust rod assembly [121] to the adjust link assembly [120].
NOTE: For the left wing, install the bolt [122] with the head on the same side of the
adjust link assembly [120] as the bushing [124]. For the right wing, install the
bolt [122] with the head on the opposite side of the adjust link assembly [120]
as the bushing [124].
2) Install the pin pin [127] in the nut [126].
(b) Connect the adjust link assembly [120] to the attach beam assembly [134]:
1) Put the adjust link assembly [120] in its position on the attach beam assembly [134].
2) Install the bushing [130], bolt [128], washer [129], washer [131] and nut [132] to attach
the adjust link assembly [120] to the attach beam assembly [134].
3) Tighten the nut [132]:
a) Tighten the nut [132] to 370-475 pound-inches (41.8-53.6 newton-meters) if the bolt
[128] is not lubricated.
b) Tighten the nut [132] to 260-310 pound-inches (39.4-35.0 newton-meters) if the bolt
[128] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
4) Install the pin [133] in the nut [132].
(c) Connect the drive rod assembly [112] to the attach beam assembly [134]:
1) Put the drive rod assembly [112] in its position on the attach beam assembly [134].
2) Install the bushing [108], bolt [106], washer [107], washer [109] and nut [110] to attach
the drive rod assembly [112] to the attach beam assembly [134].
3) Install the pin [111] in the nut [110].
(d) Connect the adjust link assembly [120] to the aft fairing assembly [82]:
1) Put the adjust link link assembly [120] in its location on the aft fairing assembly [82] with
the washers [135], washer [144], bushing [140] and bushing [141].
NOTE: Install the same number of washers [135] in the same location as you
removed them.
2) Install the bolt [142], washer [143], washer [138] and nut [137].
3) Tighten the nut [137]:
a) Tighten the nut [137] to 530-690 pound-inches (59.9-77.9 newton-meters) if the bolt
[142] is not lubricated.
b) Tighten the nut [137] to 345-425 pound-inches (39.0-48.0 newton-meters) if the bolt
[142] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.

4) Measure the clearance between the washer [138] and the flange on the bushing [139].
5) If the clearance is not 0.010 to 0.025 inch (0.25-0.64 millimeter), change the location of
the washers [135]:
a) Remove the nut [137], washer [139], washers [143], washers [135], washer [144],
bolt [142], bushing [141] and bushing [140].
b) Change the location of the washers [135].
c) Install the bushing [140], bushing [141], bolt [142], washer [143], washers [135],
washer [144], washer [138] and nut [137].
d) Make sure the clearance between the washer [138] and the flange on the bushing
[139] is in the limit of 0.010 to 0.025 inch (0.25-0.64 millimeter).
e) Tighten the nut [137] to 530-690 pound-inches (59.9-77.9 newton-meters) if the bolt
[142] is not lubricated.
f) Tighten the nut [137] to 345-425 pound-inches (39.0-48.0 newton-meters) if the bolt
[142] is lubricated with grease, D00633 or grease, D00013.
6) Install the cotter pin [136] in the nut [137].
(e) Connect the adjust rod assembly [121] to the aft fairing assembly [82]:
