7．大縱隔瘤，特大疝腫及腸梗阻的病人；頭部損傷，顱內壓增高及顱骨骨折者，下頜

GUIDELINES FOR THE PHYSICIAN
The following factors to be considered when diagnosing the physical and mental fitness for air
travel.
1． Flight distance:
a.The distance between Los Angeles and Guangzhou(China) is11632(kilometers).
b.Traveling from Los Angeles to Guangzhou (China), takes 14hours of flying time to arrive
Guangzhou.
2. Cabin conditions:
a.The air pressure within the pressurized cabin may fall to the equivalent of a height
of 2300 meters (7000 ft.) with consequent expansion of any gas within body cavities and
reduction of alveolar oxygen pressure.
b.Technical limitations of space and comfort.
c.Cabin attendants are trained only in First Aid and not allowed to give injections.
Furthermore, they are not expected to pay particular attentions to invalids to the
detriment of service to other passengers.
3. People who are under the following conditions are generally considered unfit for air travel.
a.Those suffering from severe and critical heart disease: e.g. severe cardiac failure,
cyanosis condition, or myocardial infection. (Those who have had an attack within the
past 6 weeks are not acceptable.)
b.Infants within 14 days of birth.
c.Pregnant women in their 36th week or more (women in their pregnancy more than 32nd to
36th week may be acceptable if presenting a doctor’s certificate signed within 72hours
of flight departure.)
d.Anemic people (hemoglobin concentration less than 50%)
e.Those suffering from severe otitis media with blockage of the Eustachian tube.
f.Those who have suffered from spontaneous pneumothorax or have had encephalo-pneumography
recently.
g.Those suffering from mediastinal tumors, extremely large hernias, intestinal
obstruction, head injuries resulting in cranial hypertension, or fracture of the skull,
and those with permanent wiring in the jaws.
h.Alcoholics and other toxic patients, or those mentally ill, who are hazardous to others
and or to himself.
i.Those not completely cured from a recent operation and women who are in the condition
of afterbirth not more than 2 weeks.
j.Those having suffered poliomyelitis within the past 30 days and those suffering from
